The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, gifted ability, or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace from that day. We cannot change our past, we cannot change the fact that people will act in certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing that we can do is play on the one string that we have and this string is, Attitude. I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how I react to it. And so it is with you....We are in charge of our Attitudes.

लैंगिक भेद पर कब जागेगी चेतना

नई दिल्ली [उमा श्रीराम]। महिला विधेयक ने पुरुषत्व के अभिमान को चूर-चूर कर दिया है। लोग अपना सिर पीट रहे हैं। क्या भारत में वास्तव में लैंगिक समानता होगी? हां बेशक, आज नहीं तो कल जरूर होगी। भारत में अनेक रीति-रिवाज और परंपराएं हैं। पश्चिमी देशों या विकसित देशों के विपरीत हमारे यहां का समाज कई शाखाओं और उप-शाखाओं में बंटा हुआ है। इन विभिन्नताओं के चलते महिलाएं लगातार उपेक्षित होती गई हैं और हम पूर्वाग्रह से दूषित हो गए हैं।

लैंगिक पक्षपात एक वैश्विक घटना है और यह सभी समय और संस्कृति में प्रचलित है। पुरुष हमेशा महिलाओं से भेदभाव करते हैं और उन पर अपना रौब जमाते हैं। भारत में इसी सामाजिक सोच के चलते महिलाएं पिछड़ी हैं।

अस्थिर समाज

महिलाओं के प्रति समाज के भेदभाव को मात्र एक या दो वाक्यों में नही दर्शाया जा सकता है। महिलाओं और लड़कियों के प्रति भेदभाव, जाति व समाज के भेदभाव, गरीबी के कारण शिक्षा से वंचित रखना, प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को उपलब्ध न कराना इत्यादि, यह सूची काफी लंबी है। बाल-विवाह, बालिका शिशु हत्या, बालिका भ्रूण हत्या, दहेज हत्या तथा लड़कियों को आर्थिक बोझ समझने जैसी कई कुरीतियां आज भी समाज में मौजूद है। लगातार हो रहे लिंग भेद के कारण अभी तक लाखों बालिकाओं को हम खो चुके हैं।

समाज का यह भेदभाव सरकारी नीतियों में भी दिखता है। सरकार द्वारा महिलाओं की हमेशा उपेक्षा ही हुई है। जबकि महिलाओं के पक्ष में कई नियम-कानून पहले से मौजूद हैं। कुपोषण, अपर्याप्त स्वास्थ्य सुविधाएं, शिक्षा की मनाही या उपेछा, काम का भारी बोझ, उत्पीड़न और मूलभूत अधिकारों से वंचित रहने की विवशता जैसे कुछ सरकारी कारण हैं जिस कारण महिलाएं आज भी पिछड़ी हुई हैं। पारिवारिक संपत्ति में भी लडकियों को वंचित रखा जाता है, जिसके लिए कानून में कई तरह की खामियां जिम्मेवार हैं।

हालांकि शहरों में स्थिति ठीक इसके विपरीत है। यहां आर्थिक कारणों से स्त्री-पुरुष दोनों को काम करना पड़ता है। यहां महिलाएं अधिक शिक्षित हैं। यहां परिवार भी छोटा होता है। एक या दो बच्चों के परिवार होते हैं। यहां बेटा हो या बेटी, ज्यादा फर्क नहीं पड़ता है। उच्च शिक्षित महिलाएं अपने उद्देश्य की पूर्ति के लिए अविवाहित रहना पसंद करती हैं।

शहरी महिलाएं ना तो बच्चा पैदा करने की मशीन बनना चाहती है और ना ही विवाहिता होने की गुलामी पसंद करती है। महिला समाज के उत्थान के लिए शहरों में कई विकल्प मौजूद हैं, पर छोटे शहरो में गरीब, मध्यम वर्गीय और उच्च समाज में महिलाओं के साथ भेदभाव अभी भी एक सामान्य बात है

मोदी को पीएम उम्मीदवार की मुहिम में संघ

नई दिल्ली। संघ के आशीर्वाद से भाजपा अध्यक्ष बने नितिन गडकरी द्वारा गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को प्रधानमंत्री बनने योग्य बताए जाने के बाद राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ ने भी संकेत दिया है कि आगामी आम चुनाव में मोदी भाजपा की ओर से शीर्ष कार्यकारी पद के उम्मीदवार बनाए जा सकते हैं।

राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ का कहना है कि कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी द्वारा नरेंद्र मोदी को चक्रव्यूह में फंसाने की बरसों की नाकाम कोशिशों के बाद स्वयं उसमें बुरी तरह फंस गई हैं। अब उन्हें यह डर सताने लगा है कि अगले लोकसभा चुनाव में मोदी कहीं प्रधानमंत्री पद के लिए 'उनके वंश के प्रतिस्पर्धी' बन कर सामने न आ जाएं।

संघ ने कहा है कि मोदी को देश के भावी प्रधानमंत्री के सशक्त उम्मीदवार के रूप में उभरता देख 'सोनिया मंडली' भयाक्रांत है। पिछले कुछ लोकसभा चुनाव और गुजरात विधानसभा चुनावों में सोनिया और राहुल गांधी, मोदी के करिश्मे का जलवा देख चुके हैं और उसका परिणाम भी भुगत चुके हैं। ऐसे में मोदी की छवि-ध्वंस और चरित्र हनन उनकी पहली आवश्यकता बन गई है। संघ के मुखपत्र 'पांचजन्य' में आरोप लगाया गया है कि सोनिया मंडली की मदद से राजनीति के इस चक्रव्यूह में मोदी को फंसाने में उनके 'सात महारथी' पिछले सात साल से जुटे हुए हैं। लेकिन इन महारथियों को असफलता के सिवा कुछ हासिल नहीं हुआ।

इन सात महारथियों में तीस्ता सीतलवाड़ का जिक्र करते हुए कहा गया है कि सीतलवाड़ की आड़ में वह जावेद नाम छिपा रही है, जो उसके नाम से जुड़ा है। अन्य नामों में शबनम हाशमी, अहमद पटेल, फादर सड्रिक प्रकाश आदि को गिनाया गया है। लेख में कहा गया है, इस षड्यंत्रकारी राजनीति के चक्रव्यूह का एकमात्र लक्ष्य है मोदी पर राक्षसी छवि थोप, उन्हें अकेले घेरकर द्वापर के अभिमन्यु की गति प्राप्त कराना। किन्तु यह अभिमन्यु हर बार चक्रव्यूह को भेदकर बाहर निकल आता है और षड्यंत्रकारी नई व्यूह रचना की खोज में लग जाते हैं।

गुजरात दंगों के संदर्भ में सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा नियुक्त विशेष जांच दल [एसआईटी] द्वारा मोदी को तलब किए जाने पर गडकरी ने कहा था कि मोदी प्रधानमंत्री बनने के योग्य हैं और वह इन सब संकट से उबर आएंगे।

संघ ने भी ऐसे विचार व्यक्त करते हुए कहा है कि मोदी ने एसआईटी के रूप में बनाए गए चक्रव्यूह को तोड़ दिया है। संघ और भाजपा की ओर से मोदी को अगले लोकसभा चुनाव में प्रधानमंत्री पद का उम्मीदवार बनाए जाने की धीरे धीरे चल रही इन तैयारियों के बीच शिवसेना को छोड़कर भाजपा के अन्य सहयोगी दल मोदी को लेकर सहज नहीं हैं।

राजग के प्रमुख घटक दल जद यू के नेता शरद यादव सहित बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार मोदी को दूर रखने का बहुत साफ बयान देते आए हैं। नीतीश ने अभी कल ही फिर दोहराया कि बिहार विधानसभा के लिए इस साल के अंत में होने जा रहे चुनाव में प्रचार की खातिर मोदी को आने की कोई जरूरत नहीं है।
